A few hundred feet east of the northeastern side of Brickell is Brickell Key, an island of high-rise residential and hotel towers, including the Mandarin Oriental.

Check-in/Check-out

While not a registered historic landmark, Brickell is home to Tobacco Road, which claimed to be Miami's oldest bar, in business since 1912,[4] with a now-demolished building built in 1915. The room is very nice, with good amenities, a very well equipped kitchen, laundry machine and plenty of space. The location is nice, walking distance to anywhere in Brickell but also in a little quieter spot. But what is really outstanding compared with most hotels is that their gym and fitness center is really great. We were upgraded to a better and more spacious apartment which was a very nice surprise.

Ellwood, born as Jon Nelson Burke in Texas in 1922, was an informally trained but influential Los Angeles–based architect whose career spanned the early 1950s through the mid-1970s, according to a biography by Architectuul. He gained fame through his eye-catching designs and quirky personality, bolstered by his ambitions in acting, modeling, and self-promotion. He designed several homes in Los Angeles, and the destruction of one of the few that remain is part of the considerable backlash. The 0.83-acre home once featured an elaborate garden landscaped by Garrett Eckbo, and inside, offered five bedrooms and three bathrooms in a 2,770-square-foot single-story space, according to the Robb Report. As predicted, Miami’s luxury housing market is off to a robust start.
